Radiation Oncology Nurse Job Description

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Nurse to join our team in Boston, MA.

Job Summary:

  • Provide high-quality, patient-centered care to pediatric and adult patients undergoing radiation therapy.
  • Assess patient vital signs and monitor for symptoms of radiation side effects.
  • Administer medications, infusions, and provide patient and caregiver teaching.
  • Manage the recovery of patients post-radiation treatment, especially when anesthesia is involved.
  • Collaborate with patients and their support systems to meet their individual needs and expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional, competent, and compassionate nursing care to patients and their families.
  • Assess patient vital signs and monitor for symptoms of radiation side effects.
  • Administer medications, infusions, and provide patient and caregiver teaching.
  • Manage the recovery of patients post-radiation treatment, especially when anesthesia is involved.
  • Collaborate with patients and their support systems to meet their individual needs and expectations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
  • Previous experience in caring for pediatric and adult patient populations is preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
  • Specialty certification is preferred.
  • Oncology nursing experience is preferred.
