About the Role

The Lifeguard is a vital support position to the Recreation Department at HYATT Hotels. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean pool environment, ensuring the well-being of our guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe the activities of swimmers in and around the pool to ensure compliance with policies, rules, and regulations, and to identify potential hazards.
  • Maintain group and individual discipline, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Rescue individuals in distress and provide first aid as necessary, utilizing your knowledge of CPR and first aid techniques.
  • Provide accurate information about aquatic facilities and programs, assisting with special events and maintenance operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Possess current certifications in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer (CPR-FPR) and Lifeguard Training.
  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of preventive lifeguarding, water rescues, first aid, and CPR.
  • Ability to swim with proficiency and endurance, analyze situations, and adopt a quick and effective course of action.
  • Deal effectively and tactfully with guests, and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience as a lifeguard.
  • Title 22 Certificate.
  • EMR Certificate.
  • Equivalent training certificates will be accepted if approved by the County of San Diego EMS authority.
  • EMT Certificate.
