Job Summary

We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist with EPIC, ICU, and ER experience, familiar with 980 and 840 ventilators. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patients, developing care plans, implementing and monitoring patient care plans and equipment, recording and communicating patient condition, performing advanced respiratory care modalities, evaluating treatment based on patient outcomes, educating patients and families about health conditions, and responding to emergency resuscitation teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • A Patient Care Specialist will assess patients for treatment and develop comprehensive care plans.
  • The Therapist will implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • They will record and communicate patient condition effectively, providing timely updates to the healthcare team.
  • The ideal candidate will perform advanced respiratory care modalities, including but not limited to, mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy.
  • Evaluation of treatment based on patient outcomes is crucial for this role.
  • The successful candidate will educate patients and families about their health conditions, promoting understanding and compliance.
  • In addition, they will respond promptly to emergency resuscitation teams, prioritizing patient care and safety.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate must have BLS and ACLS certification.
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH) certification is also required.
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) certification is an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is essential.
  • The candidate should be able to stand for extended periods, as well as possess strong technical skills.
  • A minimum of 2 years of current Respiratory Therapist experience is necessary, along with active Illinois state licensure.
  • COVID-19 vaccination with two shots and booster is mandatory.
