Product Line Leadership Manager

Job Summary:
The Product Line Leadership Manager will lead and implement the strategic vision and plan of assigned product line(s) at Markel. This role is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and support to underwriting teams and/or direct reports. The successful candidate will manage assigned product line(s) to achieve profit, revenue, loss ratio, and expense targets while ensuring effective execution of best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and direction to underwriting teams and/or direct reports.
- Manage assigned product line(s) to achieve profit, revenue, loss ratio, and expense targets.
- Ensure effective execution of best practices.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal resources to coordinate services to customers.
- Recruit, train, develop, and mentor underwriting talent.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across workgroups.
- Evaluate procedures and practices to improve workflows and ensure compliance with legal regulations and underwriting policies.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of product experience with a focus on platform designs, form development, product launches, rating algorithms, and filings.
- Experience with Crime and Tenant Discrimination, as well as transactional Management Liability coverages of Directors & Officers, Employment Practices, and Fiduciary.
- Travel is required.
- US Work Authorization required.
What We Offer:
Markel offers a competitive salary range of $142,500 to $237,500 with a 55% bonus potential. We also offer a 401(k) with employer match contributions, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, PTO, corporate holidays, and floating holidays.
