Job Title: Mechanical Estimator

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for providing cost management services to our clients, including estimating and cost planning for commercial, data center, industrial, and high-tech building projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide estimate and cost planning services, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Estimate at conceptual, programming, and detailed levels.
  • Assist with feasibility studies and write procurement reports.
  • Manage procurement, including pre-qualification, bid list, bid analysis, bid report, and contractual documents.
  • Participate in post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
  • Manage cost checks, valuations, and ensure timely and accurate cost checking and valuation processes.
  • Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present to clients.
  • Provide input into value engineering, negotiate and approve final accounts.
  • Maintain liaison with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Provide leadership to cost management teams and ensure delivery of accountabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report to line managers.
Requirements:
  • Good technical experience in all cost management areas, including pre-contract, post-contract, and final account.
  • Solid presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCad Navisworks, and/or other related computer software.
  • Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, and be a team player.
  • Good knowledge of all methods of construction procurement.
  • Experience with advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Experience with key aspects of business development.
  • Good knowledge and experience gained within several industry sectors.
Education/Experience:
  • College degree in Engineering, Construction Management with a Technical Focus, Quantity Surveyor, or related technical field.
  • Experience in commercial and high-tech real estate construction.
  • Experience preparing large-scale Mechanical cost understanding of all mechanical aspects as they relate to construction of projects.
  • Construction experience with mechanical and plumbing systems a plus.
