This Medical Director will be based out of Ft. Myers, FL.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains a collegial relationship with contracted and affiliate physicians in order to support the value-based care efforts of the organization.
  • Assist driving aligned performance in largely an independently contracted provider network through the development of meaningful relationships, financial and quality incentives, best practices, and forward-thinking solutions.
  • Collaborates with Network and Provider Relations staff in the market(s).
  • Assist in the identification of potential physician practice acquisitions.
  • Implement market-specific initiatives and ensures that processes and procedures align with the business model.
  • Participates in Committees, as needed.
  • Partnering with the Clinical Affordability team to support new innovative approaches to making healthcare more efficient and meaningful to PCPs and patients alike; ultimately bending the cost curve in region.
  • Developing and cascading clinical outcome/improvement messaging to business units to foster tighter working culture.
  • Helping set agendas/strategies and leading multifaceted teams of Physician Business Managers, Quality/HEDIS staff, Care Management staff, and Clinical documentation team members.
  • Serve as an integral dyad partner interfacing with Corporate level support divisions, to include: Quality, Risk Adjustment, and Clinical Affordability.

Required Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
  • Active, unrestricted Florida medical license.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
  • 5+ years of clinical experience.
  • This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of managed care experience.
  • Experience in both fee-for-service and managed care operation.
  • Medical director experience.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
