Pediatric Speech-Language Specialist at The Kidz Club

About Our Organization:

The Kidz Club is dedicated to delivering exceptional and intensive physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to children at our Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center. Our PPEC facility caters to medically-complex children from birth to under 21 years of age, ensuring they receive the skilled nursing care they require on a daily basis.
To learn more about our mission and services, please visit our website.

What We Are Looking For:

We seek a dedicated Pediatric Speech-Language Specialist who possesses experience in pediatric feeding and both high- and low-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). This expertise is essential as it constitutes a significant portion of our caseload. The role also involves early intervention and play-based therapy approaches.
The children at The Kidz Club range from infants discharged from the NICU to young adults requiring mobility assistance. A comfort level in treating this diverse population is crucial for success in this role.
Our facility emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration. You will need to work effectively with other professionals, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, applied behavior analysts, nurses, and caregivers, while being familiar with basic medical terminology and processes.
This environment includes children with complex medical needs, some of whom may exhibit behavioral challenges. Confidence in therapeutic interventions for unique cases and managing disruptive behaviors is essential.
We operate on a fee-for-service model, which allows for flexibility in your schedule. However, we require a strong work ethic, self-motivation, and effective time management skills.
Above all, we are looking for an individual with a friendly demeanor, quick adaptability, a passion for assisting children with special needs, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and diagnose various speech, language, and feeding disorders in a medical pediatric population, ages birth to 21.
- Create personalized treatment plans based on comprehensive evaluations to address clients' communication and swallowing challenges.
- Implement evidence-based practices during therapy sessions tailored to individual client needs.
- Complete all necessary documentation and treatment plans promptly and thoroughly.
- Educate and guide clients, families, and caregivers on strategies for implementing therapy at home.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians and fellow therapists, to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Stay updated with advancements in the field through ongoing education and professional development.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards set by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and state licensing boards.

Qualifications:

- A master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited institution, along with your Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA and state licensure from the Florida Department of Health.
- Clinical experience with the pediatric population, particularly in medical settings, is strongly preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in standardized assessment tools, therapeutic interventions, and relevant assistive technologies.
- Commitment to maintaining professional competency and adhering to HIPAA policies and ethical standards.
- Current CPR (BLS) certification.

Benefits:
- Flexible scheduling options for full-time, W2 employees, allowing you to determine your start and end times as well as daily patient scheduling, provided caseload productivity is met.
- Increased compensation for evaluations and re-evaluations.
- 401K and Student Loan Reimbursement programs.
- Health Benefits or Health Reimbursement Account (HRA).
- Vision and Dental Benefits.
- Basic and Voluntary Life Insurance.
- Long-Term Care with Death Benefit.
- Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
- Short- and Long-Term Disability Insurance options.
- Evelyn Mae Williamson Continuing Education Scholarship.
- Closed nights, Sundays, and major holidays.
Compensation:
- $35-40/hour

- Option to work as a 1099 contractor at an increased rate without benefits.
