About the Role

As a Middle School History Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching History classes to students in grades 6-8. You will work closely with your colleagues to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students. Your primary goal will be to empower students to become self-guided learners, critical thinkers, and global citizens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging History lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Teach History classes to students in grades 6-8, using a range of instructional strategies to make history come alive
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives that promote academic excellence and social-emotional learning
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and stay up-to-date with best practices in History education
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong passion for History education and a commitment to teaching and learning. You will also need to have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Education, History, or a related field
  • Experience teaching History to middle school students
  • Strong knowledge of History curriculum and instructional strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in education
