Job Summary:
Covenant Health is seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to perform various tasks related to medication dispensing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform technical functions, including IV process proficiency, problem-solving skills, and quality improvement involvement.
- Prepare Total Parenteral Nutrition and/or chemotherapy admixtures.
- Ensure quality aspects of the IV room are maintained.
- Clean and maintain specialized equipment.
- Calibrate auto mixer for TPN.
- Establish and maintain par levels for necessary supplies.
- Collect and assimilate data for quality assurance and improvement activities.
- Assist pharmacists in training level I technicians.
- Demonstrate knowledge and competency in providing age-specific care.
- Verify floor stock and cart fill medications as directed by the pharmacist in charge.
- Follow policies, procedures, and safety standards.
Requirements:
- One (1) year experience or state-approved certification when available.
- Expanded skills to include TPN and/or chemotherapy compounding with corresponding math skills.
- The Tennessee Board of Pharmacy requires newly hired probationary employees to be licensed by the end of their first 90 days of hire and to maintain their Technician License in active status thereafter.
