POSITION: Assistant Administrator for Elementary Education
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A Master's degree is mandatory.
2. A School Building Leader certification is preferred.
3. Minimum of five years of teaching experience in urban educational settings.
4. Administrative experience within urban schools is essential.
5. Proven experience collaborating with educators on curriculum execution and student conduct.
6. Exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Administrator will oversee the academic and behavioral needs of students while enhancing and preserving the school's cultural philosophy. This role involves collaboration with the school community, including educators, students, and families. The Assistant Administrator will also act as a liaison between the school and students' homes, ensuring effective and timely communication. Additionally, the role includes monitoring student assessments and academic progress.
- Collaborate with the Principal, fellow Assistant Administrator, and Instructional Coach to assist educators in planning and executing curriculum, including support from specialists.
- Engage closely with the Leadership team, which includes the Principal, Assistant Administrator (K-1st grades), Parent Coordinator, and Director of Operations.
- Partner with the Dean of School Culture, School Counselor, and staff to strengthen and uphold the cultural values of Academy of the City Charter School.
- Support teachers, particularly new educators, in understanding the school's mission and vision while adapting to the school culture.
- Develop and implement behavioral strategies in collaboration with classroom teachers, the Dean of School Culture, and the School Counselor for students facing challenges.
- Meet with parents to discuss academic and behavioral expectations when necessary.
