Job Summary

The Wellness Associate will report to the Wellness Director and the Wellness Manager, providing essential services and care to each Resident based on their individual Service Plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist Residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility as needed.
  • Monitor each Resident's overall physical and mental health, reporting any changes immediately to the Wellness Director.
  • Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and assist with ordering as necessary.
  • Help coordinate shift coverage during unexpected absences.
  • Support the Wellness Director with assignment management.
  • Assist in the orientation and onboarding of new Wellness Associates.
  • Respond to Resident emergencies, providing first aid and arranging for appropriate medical follow-up.
  • Help Residents maintain clean and orderly living spaces.
  • Promptly address calls for assistance and attend to Resident needs.
  • Assist Residents with clothing and laundry needs as instructed.
  • Support meal selection, service, and feeding as assigned.
  • Participate in activity programs as assigned.
  • Maintain records and files according to policy.
  • Engage in a minimum of 6 hours of in-service education annually.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Compliance and Safety:
  • Adhere to all emergency procedures.
  • Understand and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the Wellness Director and other staff members.
  • Report any changes in the physical and mental health of Residents to the Wellness Director and/or Wellness Manager immediately.
Qualifications:
  • Current State Nurse's Aide registration preferred but not required.
  • Experience and passion for working with seniors.
  • Able to perform physically demanding tasks, including pushing, bending, and lifting up to 60 pounds.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with Residents, their families, peers, and other staff members.
  • In good physical and emotional health and free of communicable diseases.
Physical Requirements:
  • Physically able to bend, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Capable of standing for extended periods.
  • May be required to use a Hoyer Lift.
Miscellaneous:
  • May be required to work weekends and holidays as assigned.
  • May be required to work on shifts other than the one for which hired.
  • May be required to work extended hours (up to 16 hours per day).
  • Subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and conditions.
  • Background, criminal, and drug tests may be required.
