- Wound Care Management: Implement evidence-based wound care practices, including debridement, dressing changes, and wound cleansing, to promote optimal wound healing.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on proper wound care techniques, including wound dressing changes, wound cleansing, and wound protection, to empower them to take an active role in their care.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Work closely with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive care and coordination of services.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress, to ensure continuity of care and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with current licensure in good standing.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of recent wound care experience, with a focus on complex wound care.
- Certifications: Current AHA BLS certification, with consideration given to wound care certifications, such as CWOCN or CWCN.
