Traffic Control Specialist Job Overview

As a Traffic Control Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety of our construction sites and ensuring efficient traffic flow.

About the Position:
  • You will be responsible for controlling and directing traffic at designated areas, adhering to established signaling procedures and traffic control plans.
  • Your primary duty will be to effectively communicate instructions to drivers using hand signals, flags, or designated equipment.
  • You will need to maintain a high level of awareness of your surroundings to identify and respond to potential hazards, guaranteeing the safe passage of vehicles and pedestrians.
  • Effective communication with colleagues, drivers, and pedestrians will be essential in maintaining a secure work environment.
  • You will report any incidents, infractions, or hazardous conditions to your supervisor without delay.
  • Compliance with all safety regulations and procedures is non-negotiable.
Requirements:
  • A valid certification as a flagger is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with traffic control procedures and regulations is essential.
  • The ability to understand and follow signaling procedures and traffic control plans is required.
  • Excellent communication skills are necessary for effective collaboration.
  • The capacity to work outdoors in various weather conditions is a must.
  • Alertness and attentiveness are crucial to ensure the safety of self and others.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods is also required.
