Job Title: Pre-Licensed Psychiatric Technician

Job Summary:

The Department of Developmental Services - Headquarters is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pre-Licensed Psychiatric Technician to join our team. As a Pre-Licensed Psychiatric Technician, you will provide direct care, modeling, coaching, instruction, and training on nursing care and behavioral support plans to community direct care staff and consumers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide basic and general behavioral training and psychiatric nursing care to STAR residents.
  • Perform on-site direct care, modeling, coaching, instruction, and training with consumers and their caretakers/direct care staff in community settings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and report on consumer behavior, progress, and any changes in their condition.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Valid California Driver's License (CDL).
  • Pass a drug screening prior to being hired.
  • Clear a background investigation prior to being hired.
  • Medical clearance prior to being hired.
  • Graduation from a training program for Psychiatric Technicians accredited by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners or acceptance by that Board to take the licensing examination.
