Job Summary:
The Supervisor Clinical Acute Registered Nurse (RN) is a key member of the Cone Health team, responsible for the daily operations of the unit/department. This role ensures effective patient care, supervises staff, and manages patient care for the assigned unit/department. The Supervisor Clinical Acute RN identifies and achieves program goals and outcomes, while maintaining regulatory and professional standards.
Responsibilities:
- Apply the nursing process to develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- Develop, revise, and document plans of care, including discharge planning, in collaboration with patients, significant others, and healthcare providers.
- Implement interventions to maintain consistency, patient dignity, privacy, and safety, and assist with educating staff regarding the nursing process, documentation, and clinical pathways.
- Assist with completing performance appraisals and generate or participate in developing the departmental schedule and managing daily staffing operations.
- Provide input for the annual budget process, monitor, and maintain departmental cost-containment activities.
- Operationalize the QI/PI program for the department and facilitate staff PI/QI education and participation.
- Recognize opportunities for QI processes, participate in designing and implementing these processes.
- Facilitate building and preserving collaborative relationships, including staff mediation.
- Facilitate/monitor ongoing activities to meet regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Required), Master of Science in Nursing (Preferred).
- Experience: 3 years as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in clinical specialty (Required).
- Licenses/Certifications/Registry/Listing: Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license (Required), BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider (Preferred).
