Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant - Ophthalmic Technician to join our team at Atlantic Vision Partners. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our ophthalmologists and optometrists in their daily operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and document patient medical history and perform office workup protocols
  • Determine visual acuity and perform automated refraction
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions as ordered by a physician
  • Perform office duties and clinical tasks, including data entry and patient services
  • Measure intraocular pressure (tonometry) and prepare patients for procedures
  • Maintain equipment and instruments in a clean and organized manner
Requirements
  • Dependable transportation to travel to other offices as required
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to seek instruction in areas where knowledge is lacking
  • Ability to recognize inconsistencies and perform tasks in a demanding environment
  • High School diploma or GED, associate degree preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in eye care preferred
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodation

Physical and Cognitive Requirements
  • Exerting up to twenty-five pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Repetitive motion and close visual acuity to perform tasks
  • Ability to be stationary for prolonged periods of time and maintain concentration/focus on tasks
