Position Overview: As a Retail Operations Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in overseeing freight processing and merchandising within the store. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards in merchandising and storeroom organization. Your leadership will guide the team in various merchandising tasks, including freight preparation, truck unloading, stocking, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Direct and oversee the unloading of trucks, managing freight flow, and ensuring backroom organization and merchandise ticketing are executed according to company standards.
  2. Supervise the freight team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficiency.
  3. Develop and implement plans to achieve merchandising goals and initiatives.
  4. Utilize company tools and reports to analyze trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
  5. Maintain the store's interior and exterior appearance, focusing on merchandise presentation and signage.
  6. Ensure accurate price changes and signage are reflected on the sales floor.
  7. Participate in the recruitment, selection, and training of new associates in collaboration with store leadership.
  8. Administer disciplinary actions when necessary, in partnership with store leadership, following company guidelines.
  9. Assist with daily and weekly scheduling and payroll processes.
  10. Act as Manager on Duty as needed, providing leadership and direction to associates while ensuring store standards are met, including customer service and merchandise presentation.

Qualifications:

  1. High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience is required; candidates must be at least 18 years old.
  2. A minimum of three years of retail management experience is preferred.
  3. Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  4. Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities are required.
  5. Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and to perform tasks such as unloading freight and moving products throughout the store.
  6. Availability to work a flexible schedule of 40 to 45 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  7. Willingness to travel between stores as needed.
  8. Demonstrated skills in visual merchandising are required.
  9. Basic proficiency in English literacy, math, and computer skills is necessary.
