Northeast Per Diem Educational Consultant (9-12 Math)

Job Summary:

The Northeast Per Diem Educational Consultant (9-12 Math) is a key role at Savvas Learning Company, responsible for delivering high-quality professional development and technical assistance to schools in the Northeast region. This position requires a deep understanding of academia, standards-based school reform, and the ability to deliver effective job-embedded professional development and site-based technical support to school personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement classroom components and resources in the program, applying the philosophy, pedagogy, and basic organization of the program.
  • Coach teachers to apply the philosophy, pedagogy, and basic organization of the program, differentiating instruction based on teacher/student need.
  • Observe classroom practices, providing teachers with critical feedback to guide implementation progress of the key instructional features of the program.
  • Use data and reporting tools to impact instruction and decision making, differentiating instruction based on student need.
  • Provide instructional support relating to effective teaching strategies for teachers across content areas using instructional technology.

Requirements:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree required; M.A. preferred.
  • Experience offering workshops/coaching to teachers.
  • Experience with classroom-based technology integration.
  • Experience with differentiated instruction.
  • Demonstrated success as a classroom teacher and at least five years of successful experience as a 9-12 professional in the Math content area.
  • Strong collaboration and team building skills.
  • Knowledge of standards-based reform, curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
  • Ability to plan strategically with and coach school leaders and classroom teachers.

Additional Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ability to handle a high volume of work in a short period of time, handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and operate in a demanding work environment.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality are critical to successful performance in this role.
  • Must be able to travel up to 70%, including airline and automobile travel.
