Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Senior Firmware Development Specialist to join our team at Coherent. This role will involve designing firmware architecture, evaluating and specifying MCUs, and developing firmware development processes for industry specifications and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and maintain firmware architecture and II-VI module trunk code, including proprietary operating systems, module control/communication applications, and device drivers.
• Develop solutions for time-critical communications, efficient digital signal processor interfaces, and mission-critical hardware controls.
• Assist in improving firmware development processes and code management systems for firmware quality control.
• Design and improve module firmware configuration mechanisms, regression tests, and production preparation.

Requirements:

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or equivalent field required.
• Experience with ARM Cortex family MCUs and DSP processors, I2C, SPI protocols, ADCs, DACs, C/C++, and assembly is essential.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams are necessary.
