Job Overview

Position Title: Regional Supervisor of Behavioral Analysis – Region 6 (Columbus, GA)

Pay Grade: L

Position Summary:

  • Facilitates training sessions for Regional Office personnel on the provision of positive behavior support services and offers oversight as required.
  • Designs and implements positive behavior support training for service providers within the region as necessary to address specific provider needs.
  • Engages in regional field office staff meetings and Developmental Disability Provider Meetings.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to behavior specialist staff, including updates on DBHDD policies and procedures, assessment reviews, and productivity tracking within the designated region.
  • Organizes regional visits by the Georgia Behavior Analysis Peer Review Committee (BAPRC), which involves selecting behavioral service providers, assisting with planning and logistics, and accompanying committee members during visits.
  • Ensures ongoing follow-up with providers to implement recommendations made by the BAPRC.
  • Oversees the delivery of positive behavior support services by developmental disability providers in the region to guarantee compliance with state policies and standards.
  • Offers consultation to regional staff and provider agencies regarding staff training and individual case evaluations.
  • Provides expert advice to providers on individual cases, including both general and specific programmatic strategies to ensure effective and high-quality positive behavior support planning and execution.
  • Consults and supports crisis service providers on individual cases in crisis homes, as needed, which may include on-site visits to offer assistance to behavior professionals, review behavior support plans and safety protocols, identify and refer complex cases to the BAPRC for further consultation, and follow up with community behavior support professionals during individual transitions back into the community.
  • Conducts evaluations of behavioral progress and makes referrals to appropriate professionals to ensure individuals receiving services are receiving high-quality care.
  • Reviews behavior support plans for individuals requiring enhanced staffing and/or behavioral supports for exceptionally challenging behaviors and recommends modifications as necessary.
  • Analyzes behavioral incident alerts and provides follow-up and consultation as required.
  • Reviews Requests for Special Circumstances and provides recommendations to the Statewide Manager of Behavioral Services and the Division of Developmental Disabilities.
  • Conducts behavioral triage assessments for individuals transitioning from state hospitals to community placements and collaborates with community provider agencies to ensure the development and implementation of appropriate positive behavior support plans.
  • Supports and supervises (if meeting BACB supervision requirements) DBHDD employees pursuing board certification in behavior analysis.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience in providing technical assistance and training;
Experience in staff supervision and quality assurance activities;
Knowledge of clinical best practice standards for behavioral services for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Doctorate degree in a related field from an accredited institution AND one year of management/supervisory experience in healthcare services OR Master's degree in a related field from an accredited institution AND two years of management/supervisory experience in healthcare services OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution AND three years of management/supervisory experience in healthcare services OR two years of experience at the lower level Mgr, Hlth Care (HCM010) or equivalent position. Note: Some positions may require certification and/or licensure.
