Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Produce Department Lead to join our team at SpartanNash. As a key member of our retail operations team, you will be responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the produce department, ensuring that our customers receive the highest level of service and quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain inventory levels, ensuring that products are properly stored and rotated to minimize waste and maximize freshness.
  • Train and develop a team of associates to provide excellent customer service and maintain a clean and organized department.
  • Review and validate received orders, ensuring that products meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures, including proper markdown procedures to minimize known loss.
  • Develop and execute plans to meet company goals and key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and excellent customer experience.
  • Stay up-to-date on product knowledge, including seasonal offerings and promotions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • 0-2 years of retail experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
