Your primary responsibility as a Screening Specialist will be to deliver exceptional, customer-oriented security services, ensuring safe and pleasant travel experiences for all passengers and visitors.

Maintaining the safety and security of individuals and property is crucial for upholding the integrity of aviation safety at the airport.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Implement consistent security protocols to ensure thorough checks of passengers and their belongings prior to boarding.
2. Control access to sensitive security areas, performing physical inspections and identifying prohibited items.
3. Efficiently manage the flow of passengers through security checkpoints.
4. Exhibit strong communication skills and sound judgment in decision-making.
5. Provide high-quality customer service consistently.
6. Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with company standards.

Essential Skills:
- Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Successful completion of the Aviation Accreditation Test
- Experience in a regulated environment
- Friendly demeanor with the ability to interact calmly with passengers

Preferred Qualifications:
- Current employment as a Screening Officer with Certificate II in Security Operations OR
- Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20118)

Additional Responsibilities:
- Manage the screening of items using X-ray technology
- Interpret X-ray images effectively
- Operate body scanning equipment
- Conduct security checks using metal detection tools
- Perform frisk searches as necessary
- Utilize explosive trace detection methods
- Maintain awareness of hazardous materials in transport security
- Identify and manage prohibited items
- Control access to sensitive areas
- Establish and uphold sterile environments
- Address disruptive behavior within the security context

About You:
- Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20118) OR
- Current Screening Officer with Certificate II in Security Operations
- Valid Dangerous Goods Qualification
- Ability to secure an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Valid driver's license
- Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.
