Job Description

**Job Summary:**

The Maintenance Superintendent is a key member of the ADM team, responsible for ensuring the optimal condition of facilities and equipment to maximize production uptime and minimize maintenance costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Align and execute the ADM Maintenance and Reliability vision/strategy.
  • Manage and implement preventative maintenance and reliability activities.
  • Lead and support root-cause analysis processes within the maintenance team.
  • Develop and analyze maintenance/reliability metrics and performance.
  • Assist production leadership in training operations personnel on equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Drive effectiveness of the storeroom and spare parts inventory.
  • Coordinate maintenance programs to schedule work with/around production schedules.
  • Maintain equipment history, work history, and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is documented.
  • Manage ongoing maintenance and reliability related projects.
  • Responsible for people management and development, including retention, recruiting, and team engagement.
  • Identify training opportunities and facilitate training sessions for maintenance personnel.
  • Take the lead role in managing the maintenance team and coaching employees to reach their fullest potential.
  • Proactively ensure all ADM employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors understand and comply with ADM safety policies and procedures.
  • Support the production department in safety and quality, including audit compliance.
  • Define project scope and plan for delivery.
  • Execute projects, including costing and implementation.
  • Monitor project results, including budget and quality.
  • Project reporting in WAVE and Maximo.
  • Supporting and driving contractor safety.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years in Industrial Maintenance Management.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and written with colleagues at various levels of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate courteously with vendors and contractors.
  • Strong ability to install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, and rotating equipment.
  • Electrical experience/knowledge a plus.
  • Ability to use and train employees on predictive and preventive maintenance tools and software.
  • Ability to train and mentor employees on improving mechanical skills and teaching safe work practices.
  • Ability to use computers and various types of software for purchasing, shipping, receiving, inventory control, scheduling, recordkeeping, and communications.
  • Ability to research problems and understand diagrams, written, and oral instructions.
  • Have a thorough knowledge of occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., walk long distances, stand for long periods, climb stairs and ladders, work at heights, work inside confined spaces, bending, kneeling, working with tools, and work in extreme temperature conditions.
  • Flexible schedule, willing to accept on-call rotation and after-hours trouble calls.
