Job Summary

This position plays a vital role in organizing and administering leisure and recreational activities for the City of DeLand. The Recreation Leader will assist in scheduling, supervising, and promoting programs and activities for various age groups, including youth sports and special events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in scheduling and organizing recreational programs and activities, ensuring effective use of community facilities.
  • Work with community groups, youth, and senior citizens to develop, promote, and implement recreational activities.
  • Supervise volunteers as required, ensuring a positive and professional experience for all participants.
Requirements
  • High school or equivalent education required; some experience in recreational activities and program administration preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver's license with a good driving record required.
  • Red Cross/YMCA CPR and First Aid certification required.
Working Environment

This role requires working in various environments, including office settings and outdoor conditions. The ability to lift 15-45 pounds, have 20/20 vision, and work in normal noise levels is essential.
