Work Schedule:
Full-time position with a standard 40-hour work week, featuring 8-hour clinical shifts and occasional weekend duties.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Collaborate with patients and families to review medical history and ensure timely completion of assessments. Analyze diagnostic and laboratory data, promptly reporting any abnormal findings to the relevant healthcare providers.
- Develop individualized care plans, including discharge strategies, based on assessment data and input from patients, families, and the healthcare team. Ensure that goals are realistic, measurable, and aligned with the patient's needs, considering various factors such as cultural and psychosocial aspects.
- Execute the care plan through direct patient interaction, coordination, delegation, and oversight of healthcare team activities. Ensure compliance with established policies, procedures, and standards of care while promoting continuity of care through effective communication.
- Assess and document patient and family responses to care and education, making necessary adjustments to the care plan based on ongoing evaluations and collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluations in the patient record, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Engage in evidence-based practice and may participate in research initiatives. Contribute to the education and development of staff, patients, and families, fostering a culture of growth and learning.
- Participate in initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes and improving nursing quality indicators, including involvement in professional organizations.
- In certain roles, provide supervision and guidance to staff within the department.
All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, ensuring a high standard of service delivery to all stakeholders.
QualificationsApplicants must hold a valid Alaska RN license. A minimum of an Associate's degree in nursing is required, along with BLS certification. Additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS may be necessary depending on the specific area of practice. Candidates should possess strong critical thinking, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, as well as effective verbal and written communication abilities.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred, along with professional certification and recent experience in an acute care setting.
