Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Specialist to join our team at Johnson Service Group. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for providing electrical design support for a major project in Oak Ridge, TN.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including raceway design, equipment location and layout, and C&R schedule inputting and updating using Setroute.
  • Produce detailed drawings and documentation in accordance with established conceptual design and scope, including design of lighting, grounding layout, and lightning protection systems.
  • Develop specifications for equipment and materials where deviation from standard documentation is required.
  • Ensure that electrical system designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Interface with construction and subcontractors as needed.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or similar field.
  • 8+ years of proven design experience with 2D MicroStation CADD, SmartSketch, and S3D skills for modeling and raceway design activities.
  • Experience with electronic cable management systems, such as Setroute, and ability to input and complete corrections to the database.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE Standards.
  • Ability to cope with conflicting deadlines, frequent interruptions, and multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities with emphasis on continuous improvement and team building, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office programs and other computer programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work well with others, other disciplines, and within a team.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with design of nuclear facilities.
  • Hands-on experience with cable pull calculation and lighting analysis using AGI32 software.
  • Hands-on use in a 3D electrical model design platform and electrical design.
  • Previous Bechtel and/or DOD or DOE project experience.
