The Senior Aircraft Painter is a key member of our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, responsible for safely preparing, painting, and detailing aircraft to the highest quality standards. As a senior member of our paint operations team, you will work independently to ensure that all work is completed to schedule and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Aircraft Preparation and Painting: Safely prepare, paint, and detail aircraft under minimal supervision, ensuring compliance with internal and FAA quality specifications.
- Team Leadership and Support: Assist supervision with assignment and accomplishment of work for assigned team members, promoting high standards of quality and setting a good example for other painters to follow.
- Equipment Maintenance and Safety: Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment, properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools, and comply with safety rules and procedures.
- Material Tracking and Aircraft Movement: Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work, and assist with aircraft movement in hangars.
- Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required, 4 years related paint processes experience, and aircraft industry experience preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language, ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation, and ability to pass Pulmonary Function Test to obtain respirator certification.
- Physical Demands: Able to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
