Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate Effectively: Greet patients and visitors in a prompt, courteous, and helpful manner, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive first impression of our practice.
  • Patient Movement Coordination: Oversee the waiting area, coordinate patient movement, and report any issues to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Registration and Insurance: Obtain and verify patient demographic and insurance information, as well as prepare and verify time of service (TOS) collections.
  • Eligibility and Resolution: Verify and resolve eligibility issues for all upcoming patient appointments and resolve and complete front desk bucket tasks in our electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Documentation and Scanning: Scan internal and/or external documentation into patient records and maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Payment and Collections: Collect payment on account(s), Durable Medical Equipment payments, copays, and past due balances in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work cooperatively with patients, vendors, clinical staff, administrative staff, leadership team, and physicians to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED required; 1-2 years of customer service experience and 1-2 years of front desk/registration experience preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Type 30-40 wpm, fluent medical terminology, ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting, phone calls, bending, twisting, lifting, and standing.
