Radiologic Technologist

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team in the Diagnostic Imaging department. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, reviewing patient requisitions, and evaluating the appropriateness of procedures prescribed.
Key Responsibilities- Review and evaluate requisitions for diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining the appropriateness of procedures prescribed.
- Identify patients according to hospital policy using two identifiers.
- Select appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
- Assess patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions, developing a care plan for each patient's specific needs.
- Explain the examination and answer questions from patients and parents regarding the exam and radiation exposure, practicing ALARA.
- Follow departmental QC/data integrity workflow and practice high reliability training.
- Respond to the uniqueness of each patient, creating a supportive environment for patients and families.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
- Participate in departmental and hospital meetings.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Comply with ETU and HIPAA regulations.
- Practice the six core values of the hospital: excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork, and accountability.
- Further professional education and maintain knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in the departmental file.
- An Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology is required.
- MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification are required.
