Job Summary



Ryder System is seeking a skilled Maintenance Repair Specialist to join our team in Romeoville, Illinois. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse equipment and facilities.



Key Responsibilities




  • Perform routine lubrications, repairs, and troubleshooting tasks on mechanical warehouse equipment

  • Assist and monitor work performed by outside contractors

  • Maintain inventory controls for cost-effective operations

  • Schedule and complete preventative maintenance procedures

  • Ensure safety standards are met, complying with company, local, city, state, and federal guidelines

  • Monitor and maintain grounds and building systems

  • Operate equipment and may be required to be equipment certified, depending on location

  • Participate in special projects and other responsibilities as determined


Requirements




  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Strong background in maintenance repair and preventative maintenance programs

  • Good organizational, communication, and planning skills

  • Basic computer and parts inventory system skills

  • Aptitude to investigate and problem-solve various mechanical issues
