Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Radiologist to join our team at the Department of Veteran Affairs. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for leading our radiology department and ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Supervise a team of radiology professionals, including physicians, technologists, and administrative staff.
    • Develop and implement strategies to improve departmental efficiency and productivity.
  • Clinical Expertise
    • Provide diagnostic imaging services, including MRI, CT, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine.
    • Interpret imaging exams and generate reports that contain pertinent findings and measurements.
  • Quality and Safety
    • Review exam requests for appropriateness and prescribe exam protocols as needed.
    • Provide oversight of technical image quality and feedback to technologists.
  • Patient Care
    • Interact with patients to obtain relevant clinical history and physical exam findings.
    • Provide education to patients and support, obtain informed consent, and document in the patient's record.
  • Medical Staff Functions
    • Participate in medical staff meetings, committee assignments, and other components of an organized medical staff.
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen (Non-Citizen May Be Considered IAW VA Policy)
  • Must have current, active & unencumbered US State Medical License (any State)
  • Must be BC in Diagnostic Radiology
  • Leadership experience preferred
