Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team at Red Robin. As a key member of our financial reporting team, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing financial statements, including the company's annual report on Form 10-K and quarterly reports on Form 10-Q.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of external financial statements, including supplemental schedules and analysis to support SEC-related filings.
  • Prepare US GAAP and SEC checklists for quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Perform technical accounting research and document conclusions on complex accounting issues in accordance with US GAAP and SEC Regulations.
  • Own certain key accounting processes, including stock award accounting and administration, equity accounting, and other technical areas.
  • Review contracts and agreements for accounting and disclosure considerations.
  • Support ad-hoc financial reporting and systems project work.
  • Recommend and assist in the implementation of process improvements to simplify, standardize, and streamline the financial reporting process.
  • Assist with compliance and maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Coordinate, assist, and respond to external auditors in their reviews of quarterly financial statements and year-end audits.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather information for the preparation of SEC-related filings and earnings releases.
  • Research and document new accounting principles and reporting requirements to ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC, and PCAOB regulations.
  • Assist in developing, documenting, and educating others on Red Robin's accounting policies for critical areas, such as equity compensation, lease accounting, debt accounting, gift cards, loyalty, impairment, and self-insurance.
  • Assist the General Ledger team with the periodic close process, including preparation of journal entries, financial statement analysis, and account reconciliations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA or CPA candidate required.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and Sarbanes-Oxley required.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience with public companies, either corporate or public accounting.
  • Prior Big 4/public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience in financial systems project work and process improvement implementation a plus.
  • Experience with financial reporting software and major ERP systems and tools a plus, including Workiva, Oracle Fusion, Essbase, Blackline, and Anaplan.
  • Advanced competency in Excel and Microsoft Office suite products.
  • Organized and extremely detail-oriented.
  • Holds self-accountable for ensuring results are achieved.
