Responsabilidades

El Asistente de Terapia Física en el hogar (PTA, LPTA) realiza tratamientos y proporciona instrucción de ejercicios y educación al paciente, con el objetivo de mejorar y potenciar el bienestar del paciente, siguiendo el plan de atención establecido.
  • Es responsable de cumplir con todas las leyes estatales específicas que rigen la provisión de terapia física en el hogar, siguiendo el tratamiento definido únicamente por el PT supervisor; debe realizar solo aquellos procedimientos para los cuales está calificado y capacitado, y hacer recomendaciones para cambios en el plan de atención al Terapeuta Físico supervisor.
  • Instruye y ayuda a los pacientes en ejercicios activos y pasivos, reeducación muscular, marcha, funcionalidad, actividades de la vida diaria, transferencias, seguridad y entrenamiento con prótesis.
  • Observa, registra e informa al PT supervisor, al enfermero supervisor y/o al médico sobre la respuesta del paciente al tratamiento y los cambios en su condición. Coordina la atención con otros miembros del equipo de salud según sea apropiado.
  • Instruye al paciente, familia, cuidadores y otros miembros del equipo de salud en las áreas de terapia dentro del alcance del asistente de terapia física.
Requisitos

Requisitos de Licencia
  • Licencia, registro o certificación actual para asistir en la práctica de la terapia física en el estado de práctica.
  • Se requiere certificación actual de RCP.
  • Licencia de conducir actual, seguro de vehículo y acceso a un vehículo confiable o transporte público.
