Role of the Emergency Room Nurse:
Emergency room travel nurses play a crucial role on the hospital front lines. These positions require candidates who can thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment. Responsibilities include assessing patients upon arrival and performing triage to evaluate their conditions. The ability to recognize injuries, signs, and symptoms, and effectively communicate assessments to physicians is essential. Travel ER nurses assist in patient treatment and provide explanations regarding prescriptions to patients and their families. Additionally, they must be knowledgeable about facility and governmental policies related to patient treatment, transfer, and discharge. Educating patients and their families about ongoing treatment at home is also a key responsibility before discharge.
