Key Responsibilities- Assure the quality of patient care and treatment programs by providing hands-on assessment, treatment, and direction to subordinate staff on matters of treatment.
- Implement patient plans of care and goals using appropriate COTA skills, ensuring seamless integration with our multidisciplinary team.
- Actively listen to patient and family concerns when modifying treatment plans, demonstrating empathy and a patient-centered approach.
- Provide education and motivation to patients and families to learn and improve functional activities, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
- Document progress, home programs, and other required documentation in a timely manner, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records.
- Confer with other staff members to exchange, discuss, and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment plans.
- Maintain patient and family confidentiality at all times, adhering to strict confidentiality protocols.
- Participate in continuing education activities and obtain required contact hours, staying up-to-date with the latest best practices and research.
- Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist Assistant in the state of Iowa.
- Regular and consistent attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs, with physical activity including walking, standing, sitting, and lifting.
