Role Overview:
This position plays a crucial role in shaping the future of space exploration, demanding your dedication and meticulous attention to ensure safe and repeatable space missions.

As part of a dynamic and dedicated team of professionals, specialists, and engineers, you will spearhead initiatives to manage and guide suppliers and colleagues in support of the external development of various spaceflight systems.

You will engage with our clients, the Programs, to address concerns and ensure that development efforts and deliveries remain on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:
The Procurement Specialist II will ensure that program requirements are effectively prioritized and executed to fulfill the needs of Blue Origin. Key responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrating proficiency in Blue Origin's Supply Chain compliance standards, strategies, and initiatives.
  • Exhibiting strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Preparing and issuing Requests for Proposal/Requests for Quote, conducting price analyses to support proposals, and developing negotiation strategies.
  • Leading formal negotiations and constructing various contract types for significant procurement activities.
  • Taking ownership of the procurement process from requisition creation to final invoice payment, resolving any issues that arise.
  • Identifying, implementing, negotiating, executing, and managing strategic agreements, such as Long-Term Agreements (LTAs), where mutually beneficial.
  • Supporting the overall strategic direction of the procurement organization to ensure corporate objectives are met, including timely delivery of production materials that are on budget and meet technical performance standards.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Finance with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in procurement and supplier management.
  • An understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
  • Experience negotiating and managing various contract types, including Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Time and Material (T&M), and cost-type contracts (CPFF, CPIF).
  • The ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • A proven track record of meeting tight deadlines, multitasking, and prioritizing workload.
  • Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to establishing and tracking program metrics.
  • Excellent people and communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have:

  • Prior experience in the Space or Aerospace industry.
  • Experience with Avionics or Fluids components.
  • Familiarity with import/export (ITAR/EAR) regulations.
  • Certification as a Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
