Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the highest standards of care in the management of radiation-producing equipment, safeguarding both patients and staff.
- Provide expert technical support in developing treatment plans for patients receiving radiation therapy.
- Monitor patient progress and uphold established policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
- Conduct radiation control activities, including investigation, surveillance, and inspection of radiation and x-ray equipment.
- Assist the Radiation Safety Officer in the Radiation Therapy and Diagnostic Departments.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master's or Doctorate in Medical Physics or a related field.
- BLS (AHA) certification required within 30 days of employment.
- Strong understanding of physics principles, medical terminology, and radiation safety measures.
- Familiarity with federal regulations regarding radioactive materials and radiation equipment.
- Experience with Cyberknife/SRS is preferred.
- Proficient in Varian TrueBeam, HDR Varisource, Aria, and Eclipse systems.
- Certification in radiologic medical physics by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) is mandatory.
