Job Summary


Under the general supervision of the Supervising Dentist, Correctional Facility, and/or Supervising Dental Assistant, Correctional Facility, and the clinical direction of the Dentist, Correctional Facility, the Dental Assistant, Correctional Facility performs supportive dental procedures under the guidelines and regulations set forth by the Dental Board of California Dental Practice Act, and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Inmate Dental Services Program (IDSP) policies and procedures.


Responsibilities



  • Assists in the related work of a dental office, maintains order and supervises the conduct of inmates, and directs their duties.
  • Protects and maintains the safety of persons and property.
  • Performs supportive dental procedures under the guidelines and regulations set forth by the Dental Board of California Dental Practice Act, and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) Inmate Dental Services Program (IDSP) policies and procedures.

Qualifications



  • One year of experience as a dental assistant.
  • Training in a school for dental assistants may be substituted for the required experience on the basis of three months of training being equal to six months of experience.

Additional Requirements



  • The position requires a Background Investigation to be cleared prior to being hired.
  • The position requires Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
