Job Summary

Auburn University is seeking a highly skilled Campus Architect to join its Facilities Management team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of architectural projects, including project scopes, budgets, contracts, design, bidding, construction, and ensuring compliance with codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform architectural design functions by preparing schematics, working drawings, and specifications for projects of a complex nature.
  • Coordinate projects to include scheduling, budgeting, monitoring cost, and resolving client issues.
  • Select and manage the services of architects, engineers, and consultants.
  • Perform periodic construction inspections and prepare and distribute reports to appropriate personnel.
  • Collect data for use in the formulation of university design standards and maintain approved design criteria and/or code compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee the design and production of drawings and specifications with each of the required disciplines within the department.
  • Coordinate with other units, internal and external, to receive and distribute estimates and bids of construction costs for user/client approval.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A B.S. in Architecture or a related field.
  • 2-8 years of experience in principles and practices of architectural design, depending on the level of the position.
  • A valid driver's license and a Licensed Architect in the state of Alabama for levels 4, 5, and 6.
