- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with administrators, faculty, and staff to promote a healthy and safe learning environment.
- Develop and maintain community partnerships to improve access to resources that benefit the health and wellness of students, families, and the community.
- Collect and analyze health-related data to inform decision-making and improve program effectiveness.
- Develop and implement health education programs to promote healthy behaviors and lifestyles.
- Provide training and professional development opportunities to School Health Services staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Develop and manage the School Health Services budget to ensure effective use of resources.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to student health services.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local health departments and other community partners to ensure access to resources and services.
- Provide leadership and direction to the School Health Services team to ensure the delivery of high-quality health services to students and staff.
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, education, public health, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in nursing leadership or school nursing.
- Illinois Registered Nurse License.
- Professional Educator License.
- Certified School Nurse (CSN) endorsement.
- CPR/AED certificate.
- Valid Illinois Hearing and Vision screener certification.
- Knowledge of the Illinois Nurse Practice Act.
- Knowledge of the Illinois School Code.
- Understanding of IDEA, ADA, and other laws supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of state and local health requirements and reporting procedures.
- Understanding of Illinois Communicable Disease Control.
- Knowledge of all applicable federal and state education requirements.
- Knowledge of the community and community resources.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. The ability to work effectively in a team environment and to communicate effectively with administrators, faculty, staff, students, families, and community partners is essential.
Salary and BenefitsThe District 300 School Health Services Director will be paid on the Level G - Administrator Salary Schedule, with an annual salary range of $96,705 - $104,676. The position also includes a monthly mileage stipend of $225 and a comprehensive benefits package.
