Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a variety of nuclear medicine imaging procedures as per established protocols.
  • Efficiently operate nuclear medicine scanners and related equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Monitor and document the receipt of radioactive materials, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and administer radioactive doses for patient examinations.
  • Implement quality control measures for all imaging equipment.
  • Assist physicians during procedures and enhance imaging quality through computer processing.
  • Engage with patients to gather comprehensive clinical histories and pertinent information.
  • Adapt work schedules as necessary to meet departmental needs, including potential overtime or weekend shifts.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and collaborate with team members to enhance service delivery.
  • Review patient charts to ensure alignment with physician orders.
  • Provide clinical instruction to students and support their learning experience.
  • Address equipment issues proactively to minimize downtime.
  • Participate in on-call rotations as required by departmental demands.
  • Assist in patient transport during emergencies, ensuring safety and efficiency.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to discussions on operational improvements.
  • Adhere to continuing education guidelines set forth by relevant professional organizations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental operations.

Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program is required.

Experience Requirements:
  • Demonstrated training and experience in radiation safety and protection are essential.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient understanding of nuclear medicine instrumentation, procedures, and safety protocols.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • ARRT certification or NMTCB certification is required upon hire.
  • Current NJDEP licenses in Nuclear Medicine and Limited CT Fusion are mandatory upon hire.
