Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Lactation Consultant to join our team at Norton Healthcare. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing expert care and support to patients and families in need of lactation services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate plans of care to meet the breastfeeding needs of patients, from neonates to adults.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare providers on breastfeeding techniques and best practices.
  • Manage patient care assignments and other organizational tasks related to patient and unit operations.
  • Act in a clinical leadership role, applying knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions.
  • Supervise licensed and non-licensed staff members, focusing on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.
  • Apply educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff.
Qualifications
  • Required:
    • Diploma in Nursing
    • Registered Nurse (KY) licensure
    • One of: Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) or International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) certification, to be obtained within two years of hire
  • Desired:
    • One year of experience in a clinical setting
    • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related field
    • Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) or International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC) certification
