Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance tasks on tractor trailers, including oil changes, brake adjustments, tire rotations, and other preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Diagnose and Repair Complex Issues: Utilize diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical issues in tractor trailers.
  • Inspect and Repair Trailer Systems: Inspect, repair, and maintain trailer systems, including brakes, air systems, lighting, and suspension.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work with other team members to schedule and prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure Compliance with Regulations: Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Provide On-Road Assistance: Provide on-road assistance for breakdowns and emergency repairs as required.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in diesel technology or a related field preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanic, preferably in a heavy-duty or tractor-trailer environment.
  • Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of diesel engines, air brakes, suspension systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics. Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and tools. Welding and fabrication skills are a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
