Position Overview: We are seeking an OB/GYN Hospitalist for comprehensive in-house coverage for the OB Emergency Department, required to be available 24/7.

Position Details:

  • Work schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off, with 12-hour shifts.
  • The OB/GYN physician will serve as an OB Hospitalist, present in Labor and Delivery around the clock to address any patients arriving at the OBED for treatment or those coming in under unassigned call.
  • This physician will also attend to the main Emergency Department for any GYN or Obstetric issues that arise in patients under 20 weeks of gestation.
  • Responding to any obstetric emergencies or traumas involving an OB patient will be part of the responsibilities.
  • Conducting safety rounds each shift in collaboration with the L&D Patient Care Supervisor and overseeing quarterly safety drills with the OB leadership team will be required.
  • The OB Hospitalist will work in partnership with private physicians and assist in emergencies or upon request as necessary.

Facility Highlights:

  • The facility has an annual delivery volume of approximately 2000, averaging 160 deliveries each month.
  • The majority of patients in the OBED currently present with a Level III acuity.
  • 24/7 dedicated OB anesthesia is available on-site, along with a Level III NICU located one floor below.
  • Monthly OB ED encounters are currently at 250.
  • The current C-section rate stands at 27%.

Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for a highly qualified OB/GYN with a background in High-Risk Obstetrics or a similar service with an annual delivery volume of 2000+. The ideal candidate should be patient-focused, adaptable, and willing to collaborate with private physicians while fostering a safe and positive work environment for all staff.
