Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembler to join our team at Cortland Company. As an Assembler, you will play a critical role in building key products and subassembly components safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble final products and subassembly components using hand tools and light power tools, following work instructions and bill of materials (BOM)
  • Suggest modifications to work instructions and BOMs as needed to ensure accuracy and repeatability
  • Test built products and components as defined by work instructions
  • Operate test stands as needed to ensure pumps and products are accurately assembled
  • Follow defined work processes and procedures, including ISO, work instructions, BOMs, and safety procedures
  • Cross-train others on cells/product lines where employees have not yet been exposed
  • Conduct quality inspections on products and parts and troubleshoot product where needed
  • Prepare finished products for shipment, ensuring they meet our quality standards
  • Complete data entry as needed to ensure inventory is accurate
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area using 5S techniques
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Low to moderate degree of mechanical, technical, and/or analytic knowledge and experience
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or other related fields is a plus
  • Familiarity with assembly tools and equipment is a plus
Work Environment

The employee will be in a manufacturing environment where they may work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to vibration. The employee will be exposed to elevated levels of noise on the plant floor.
