We are seeking a skilled Assembler to join our team at Cortland Company. As an Assembler, you will play a critical role in building key products and subassembly components safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities- Assemble final products and subassembly components using hand tools and light power tools, following work instructions and bill of materials (BOM)
- Suggest modifications to work instructions and BOMs as needed to ensure accuracy and repeatability
- Test built products and components as defined by work instructions
- Operate test stands as needed to ensure pumps and products are accurately assembled
- Follow defined work processes and procedures, including ISO, work instructions, BOMs, and safety procedures
- Cross-train others on cells/product lines where employees have not yet been exposed
- Conduct quality inspections on products and parts and troubleshoot product where needed
- Prepare finished products for shipment, ensuring they meet our quality standards
- Complete data entry as needed to ensure inventory is accurate
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area using 5S techniques
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Low to moderate degree of mechanical, technical, and/or analytic knowledge and experience
- Previous experience in manufacturing, assembly, or other related fields is a plus
- Familiarity with assembly tools and equipment is a plus
The employee will be in a manufacturing environment where they may work near moving mechanical parts and may be exposed to vibration. The employee will be exposed to elevated levels of noise on the plant floor.
