Job Opportunity: Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Univar Solutions USA Inc.

About the Job:
  • Type: Full-time position

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine maintenance on our fleet of heavy equipment vehicles, including trucks and tankers. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, as well as strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and other essential components.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain and repair our fleet of heavy equipment vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
  2. Perform preventative maintenance tasks, such as oil changes and tire rotations, according to manufacturer schedules.
  3. Conduct inspections on all vehicles every 90 days to identify potential issues before they become major problems.
  4. Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with our equipment.
  5. Purchase parts and supplies as needed to keep our vehicles operational.
  6. Manage official vehicle records, including registration and inspection documents.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
  • Specialized training preferred in Cummins diesel engines, Eaton transmissions, Rockwell differentials, heavy-duty truck suspensions, and heavy-duty brake systems.
