Nurse Practitioner

As a Registered Nurse on the Progressive Care Unit at The University of Vermont Health Network, you will have the opportunity to care for a diverse range of patients with complex medical needs. Our PCU provides advanced monitoring and treatment options, including invasive hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and cardiac monitoring. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care and support professional growth through education and certification opportunities.
Responsibilities- Care for patients with compromised airways, controlled infusion of antiarrhythmic or vasoactive IV drug therapy, and acute poisoning
- Monitor and manage patients with multisystem failure, neurologic abnormalities, and metabolic crisis
- Provide care for patients with multiple trauma, chest pain, myocardial infarction, and heart failure
- Administer thrombolytic therapy, GI bleeding, internal/external pacing, and electrical cardioversion
- Support patients with acute dialysis (peritoneal, hemodialysis) and post-cardiac arrest
- Current RN licensure in the state of Vermont
- Experience in critical care nursing, preferably in a PCU setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high acuity patients
- $10K RN Sign-On Bonus for full-time (pro-rated for part-time)
- Differentials - evenings $3.00, nights $4.00 and weekends $3.25
- Charge pay $5.00
