Certified Nursing Assistant

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, this Certified Nursing Assistant will perform basic patient care activities, ensuring the highest level of care and compassion for our patients.
Essential Functions- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, eating, and ambulation.
- Respond to patient needs promptly and appropriately, utilizing effective communication skills.
- Maintain patient rooms and common areas in a clean and orderly condition.
- Collect and document patient information, including vital signs and weight.
- Report any abnormal findings or changes in patient condition to nursing staff.
- Assist with post-mortem care, including transport to the morgue.
- Perform basic patient care activities as delegated by an RN, including monitoring vital signs and recording intake and output.
- Transfer, move, and reposition patients as assigned.
- Set up simple traction as requested.
- Obtain, store, and label specimens, ensuring accurate and safe delivery to the lab.
- Assist with patient discharge, including transport, packing of personal belongings, and hygiene needs.
- Participate in the orientation and training of new staff members as directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Computer skills and previous EMR experience preferred.
- Medical Technology preferred.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- BLS certification required.
- Current NC Certified Nursing Assistant certification required.
- 1 year of experience preferred.
