Maintenance General Foreman

The Maintenance General Foreman is a critical role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the maintenance activities that ensure our machinery, equipment, and facilities are in optimal working condition.

This position involves coordinating and supervising a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are performed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards.

The Maintenance General Foreman plays a key role in minimizing downtime and enhancing the reliability of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership and Supervision:
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of maintenance personnel, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.
    • Provide guidance, training, and support to the maintenance team, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
  • Maintenance Planning and Coordination:
    • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and plans, ensuring preventive and corrective maintenance tasks are carried out efficiently.
    • Coordinate with production and operations teams to minimize downtime and disruption during maintenance activities.
    • Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Equipment and Facility Maintenance:
    • Oversee the maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facilities, ensuring they are in good working condition.
    • Identify and troubleshoot issues with equipment, coordinating repairs and replacements as necessary.
    • Ensure that maintenance tasks are documented accurately and maintenance records are kept up-to-date.
  • Inventory and Resource Management:
    • Manage inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment, ensuring availability for maintenance tasks.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to procure necessary materials and services.
    • Monitor maintenance budgets and control costs effectively.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any safety concerns promptly.
    • Promote a culture of safety within the maintenance team and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for improving maintenance processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance operations.
    • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements in maintenance technology and techniques.
  • Communication and Reporting:
    • Communicate effectively with management, production teams, and other stakeholders regarding maintenance activities and issues.
    • Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance performance, including key metrics and KPIs.
    • Respond to emergency maintenance requests and coordinate appropriate actions.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, maintenance management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in industrial maintenance, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of maintenance techniques and best practices, proficiency in using maintenance management software (CMMS), and familiarity with various types of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Certifications:
    • Relevant certifications in maintenance management or specific technical areas are a plus.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to work in industrial environments, including standing, walking, climbing, and lifting heavy objects as needed.
