Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Safety Specialist to join our team at HR Pals LLC. As a lifeguard and swim instructor, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe aquatic environment for our members and program participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain active surveillance of the pool area to ensure a safe environment for all individuals.
  • Know and review emergency procedures and respond to emergency situations immediately in accordance with client policies and procedures.
  • Apply safety rules, policies, and guidelines consistently throughout the pool and aquatic area.
  • Accurately maintain records as required by the client and/or state health department code.
  • Perform equipment checks and ensure appropriate equipment is available as needed.
  • Inspect the pool for hazardous conditions upon arrival.
  • Perform chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and take necessary action.
  • Identify and celebrate the successes of members and program participants.
  • Attend and participate in all staff meetings and in-service training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Certifications: Basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration or equivalent.
  • Current lifeguard certification or equivalent (Red Cross Lifeguard).
  • Able to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness.
  • Demonstrate lifeguard skills according to YMCA standards.
  • Background check.
  • Lifeguard certification and Swim Lesson Instructor Certification a plus.

  • See and observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this position is $40,000-$60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
